Position Summary

Credit First National Association is a private label credit card bank. We are seeking an experienced Compliance Officer with consumer compliance experience, preferably extensive experience with state and federal laws and banking regulations (e.g. CCARDA, BSA, TILA, FCRA, ECOA, etc.) related to the credit card industry.

The Compliance Officer will be responsible for the development, implementation and administration of the Bank’s Credit Card Consumer Compliance Program. This position reports to the bank’s legal counsel, and oversees the Compliance Program, Compliance Audit Program and Internal Audit Plan.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and administer the Bank’s Credit Card Consumer Compliance Program

  • Oversee the Compliance Program, Compliance Audit Program and Internal Audit Plan

  • Report accordingly to the Board of Directors and Audit Committee

  • Coordinate the Compliance Committee

  • Perform appropriate consumer compliance risk assessments

  • Interpret and maintain full knowledge of new and existing consumer compliance laws and regulations, particularly credit card compliance regulation

  • Monitor for regulatory revisions and ensure summaries of all revisions are forwarded to appropriate committee and management

  • Ensure compliance with bank policies and procedures

  • Perform research as appropriate to provide sound, well-reasoned compliance advice and support

  • Provide the compliance perspective for management and business decisions, including incident management

  • Manage the Compliance Department by coordinating compliance support for bank projects and initiatives to ensure bank products are in compliance with applicable laws and regulations; reviewing internal audit and regulatory testing to identify operational deficiencies and implementing corrective action to ensure audit findings are addressed and corrected in a timely manner; and ensuring compliance personnel maintain knowledge of applicable banking laws and regulations through training opportunities and career development

  • Coordinate and participate in regulatory examinations and other audits

  • Participate in developing remediation plans to address deficiencies identified and ensure plans are well-documented and timely corrective action is taken

  • Coordinate appropriate training and oversight programs for bank personnel with respect to compliance laws and regulations.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Compliance officer experience and/or sufficiently extensive (+10 years) consumer compliance work experience.

  • Strong managerial experience.

  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, communication, analytical, and organizational skills.

Preferred:

  • Extensive credit card compliance experience
