Position Summary:

We are seeking a Compliance Specialist with consumer credit card compliance experience. The position will be responsible for assisting in the development and administration of the Bank’s Credit Card Consumer Compliance Program, including performing testing and audit for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Prepares detailed written reports summarizing audits performed. Interprets new and existing state and federal laws and banking regulations (e.g. CCARDA, BSA, TILA, FCRA, ECOA, etc.) and maintains full knowledge of consumer compliance regulation. Ensures compliance with Bank policies and procedures. Required to be fully knowledgeable with applicable consumer compliance laws and regulations, and provide sound, well-reasoned regulatory compliance advice and support.

Responsibilities:

Develop and administer the Bank's compliance program and evaluates its effectiveness which encompasses a review of internal controls and adherence to consumer laws and regulations.Perform testing at appropriated intervals for compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and adequacy of policies, procedures and controls intended to prevent and detect violations.In administering the compliance program, ensures that:

  2. Bank departments are monitored at appropriate intervals for compliance with applicable laws and regulations and adequacy of internal controls designed to prevent and detect violations of laws and regulations,

  3. Written reports summarizing monitoring of compliance with consumer compliance laws and regulations are comprehensive, accurate, and demonstrate strong written communication skill,

  4. Written reports of monitoring are reported to the Bank's Compliance Officer and affected management personnel,

  5. Corrective action is implemented as appropriate.

  6. Perform appropriate research to provide sound, well-reasoned compliance advice and supportin the interpretation of regulations and the Bank’s policies and procedures and disseminate information on matters affecting regulatory compliance, including consultationwithmanagement and teammates on compliance-related issues.

  7. Maintain knowledge of consumer compliance regulations and monitor regulatory revisions; ensure that summaries of all revisions are forwarded to Management and the Compliance Committee.

  8. Assist in reviewing the Bank’s policies and procedures based on regulatory changes, internal audits, and examinations by regulatory agencies.

  9. Ensure that all new Bank products are in compliance with applicable laws and regulations and that they are reflected in compliance risk assessments.

  10. Lead in the overall development and deployment of appropriate training and oversight programs with respect to Compliance laws to all employees and the Board of Directors. Including the creation, design, development and implementation of a technology based compliance solution for bank operations.

  11. Review and approve compliance and business documents prior to implementation.

  12. Participate in internal audit and regulatory examinations; ensure findings are addressed and corrected in a timely manner.

  13. Develop tools and procedures to ensure adequate monitoring processes are established to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, including regulatory revisions.

  14. Attend various project and committee meetings to provide the compliance perspective on issues discussed.

  15. Co-Chair of the Compliance Committee.

  16. Ensure that Compliance Department policies and procedures are revised as necessary.

  17. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree and/or sufficiently extensive (+10 years) consumer credit card compliance work experience, including testing/auditing compliance programs.Experience in a business or enterprise subject to regulation. Strong interpersonal, communication, analytical, and organizational skills.

Desired:

Juris Doctor, CRCM certification, or other higher education. Knowledge of consumer laws/regulations applicable to credit card banks.
