Position Summary:

The Manager of Benefits Administration will be responsible for the oversight of the day-to-day administration and operation of the Bridgestone Health & Welfare related plans and management of benefit analysts. This individual will work in partnership with the Benefits Administration Manager and vendors to ensure a high level of service to Bridgestone plan participants. The successful candidate must have a passion for excellence in service delivery, coaching and developing teammates, and the ability to work successfully in a fast paced team environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage, coach and develop team of Health & Welfare analysts and senior analysts

  • Ensure efficient and effective operations and processes of the medical, dental, vision, life insurance benefit plans, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts and other plans

  • Assess processes and established desk top procedures and continually make process improvements for standardization and efficiencies

  • Develop and document regular controls and practices to validate the accuracy and efficiency of processes

  • Manage annual open enrollment process, including project management and coordination with internal communications partners

  • Work closely with benefits strategy team to implement plan design and rate changes

  • Ensure vendors perform at high level of service and according to service level agreements

  • Develop and monitor monthly reporting of analytics and performance of all health and welfare benefit plans and vendors

  • Oversee the completion of required annual plan audits, communications and filings

  • Research and resolve benefit issues pertaining to plan and regulatory compliance including COBRA, ERISA, FMLA, and other federal and state insurance laws

  • Oversee all benefit compliance related activities and projects

  • Collect, develop and review Summary Plan Descriptions, Plan documents and summaries to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements

  • Facilitate the completion of annual required filings and communications around compliance

  • Manage ad-hoc projects as needed to support benefits administration

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 or more years of experience in senior health & welfare benefits administration role

  • Working knowledge of health & welfare benefits administration, and the legal and regulatory environment

  • In depth knowledge of benefits compliance subjects and required annual filings

  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills

  • Ability to make large scale presentations to senior leaders and colleagues

  • Strong research and analytical skills

  • Full functional advanced knowledge of Excel and MS Word

  • Preferred experience managing benefits team

  • Preferred experience working for large national employer
