Position Summary:

The Warranty Service Specialist is responsible for protecting the interests of Firestone/GenFlex as it relates to

claims against warranted roofing projects. Through on-site roof top investigation and analysis of common or unusual claims against warranted projects, a definitive company position is formulated and presented. In addition, the Warranty Service Specialist will be responsible for development and communication of the position and may be called upon to represent Firestone/ GenFlex regarding claims as well as negotiation of settlements relative to such claims under the direction of the Quality Building Service Manager.


Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Reviews necessary field work and assigns projects to individuals investigators/ engineers based on complexity of issues and geographic proximity of trips

  • Assists investigators/engineers in coordination of trips including hiring of contractors to assist in investigation

  • Acts as in house technical services source for phone in questions by field people as they arise

  • Works with field people to reduce outstanding investigation or investigations completed by not written up

  • Reviews written specifications of others for completeness, clarity and cost effectiveness

  • Aids field in follow-up of jobs through purchasing and shipping

  • Assists with field investigations when volume or complexity of problem or issue dictates

  • Assists in meetings and negotiations when necessary

  • In-depth inspection and analysis of roof system exhibiting problems requires extensive knowledge of all construction practices as they relate to Firestones' systems and watertight integrity of roof

  • Quick, thorough completion of all paperwork including photographs related to each claim to properly document Firestones' position for presentation and future reference including possible litigation

  • Preparation of clear concise, in depth repairs specifications which summarize roof top analysis into cost effective, workable solutions to problem

  • Coordination with purchasing to choose repair contractor

  • Verbal and written communication to building owners and roofing contractors, on intricate complicated problems and issues of each claim and Firestones' position relative to it; includes dealing with upset and hostile parties adverse to Firestone position making

  • Preparation of material order forms to ship repair materials to represented contractors

  • Review of written specifications by others for clarity, completeness, and cost effectiveness


Warranty Service Specialist:

  • 4 year degree + 3 years of roofing industry experience OR 8 years of progressive roofing/construction experience

Senior Warranty Service Specialist:

  • 4 year degree + 5 years of roofing industry experience

Candidate must reside or be willing to relocate to Nashville, TN
