Commodity Manager is responsible for executing and managing the procurement process of designated commodities to reduce the total cost of ownership for goods and services while ensuring uninterrupted supply. Interacts with both suppliers and internal customers to identify, implement, and realize optimal value and performance.
Develops commodity, supplier, and negotiation strategies to minimize cost and reduce risk of interrupted supply.
Partners closely with and builds strong relationships with internal customers (i.e., manufacturing, finance, engineering, etc.) to understand and effectively respond to supplier and commodity needs.
Monitors commodity-impacting market trends to establish insight for strategy development, execution, and risk mitigation.
Manages and enhances supplier performance through standardized processes and continuous improvement efforts (KPI/SLA) to obtain optimal results related to quality, cost, delivery, and service.
Initiate supplier qualifications including diversity initiatives to compile a robust supplier portfolio.
Completes following activities as required: data collection, market analysis, sourcing, cost model analysis, award, and implementation across business units, contract administration, and compliance monitoring for assigned commodities
Bachelor's degree required
5+ years experience in Procurement and Commodity management
Proficient in Microsoft Office Tools
Advanced degree preferred
CPM certification preferred
