The Finance Manager for Division Operations plays a critical role in providing strategic decision support, operational financial guidance, and value added analysis for Bridgestone Retail Operations (BSRO). The position will report to the Director, Field Finance and have a strong business partnership with the Division Vice President, working extensively with the retail senior leadership team, field operations, and HQ Finance team. Specific scope of responsibility includes 3 direct reports in support of 550 company owned retail stores in a geographic segment of the U.S.


  • Providing performance metric and value-added analysis for the Retail Operations business at a Divisional level

  • Identifying profitability opportunities, analyzing P&L trends, and providing recommendations for improved efficiencies and performance

  • Being fiscally responsible for the performance results

  • Securing and maintaining a strong and consistent controls environment

  • Partnering with senior business leaders to develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives

  • Day-to-day partnering with Regions to hold them accountable for performance

  • Expanding financial disciplines, best practices and standards across the organization

  • Leading best in class analytics and building KPI exception reporting dashboards to focus performance improvements

  • Providing a strategic and proactive financial influence on the Division Leader

  • Interacting extensively with the Retail Operations leadership team and becoming a ‘trusted advisor’ to the business

  • Effectively leading and influencing indirect reports

  • Liaising with the HQ Finance team

  • Involvement and ownership in enterprise special projects to support ongoing personal development

  • Thinking broadly about the organization and determining the tasks/responsibilities necessary to provide the appropriate support

  • Influencing fact-based operating and financial decisions

  • Identify financial opportunities using trend and root cause analysis

  • Set effective annual financial operating plans/budgets across the division

  • Manage results reporting and financial operations reviews

  • Review and maintain process for margin investigation, account payables and cost issue resolution

  • Monthly close, underperforming store and bonus program evaluations

  • Review and maintain region/store audit and Inventory review / controls

  • Achievement of Division financial objectives, including revenue and profit growth

  • Responsible for maintaining all financial controls within the Division while protecting and managing company assets

  • Effectively collaborate with other leaders on strategic and tactical initiatives

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance / MBA Preferred

  • Strong cross-functional leadership, support and communication skills

  • 7-10 years finance and operating leadership experience

  • Experience managing direct reports with remote team management a plus

  • Extensive experience in operational finance and profitability/ productivity analysis

  • Advanced financial modeling and Excel skills

  • Strong working knowledge of retail required, previous retail a plus
