Position Summary:

As a Procurement Manager supporting Firestone Building Products (FSIP), this individual will be responsible for managing the complete procurement process of designated materials to reduce the cost of goods and services while ensuring uninterrupted supply. The role will be held accountable for development and execution of commodity, supplier and cost reduction strategies, and work plans to support procurement of raw materials to support the air spring manufacturing as well as accessories associated with the given product lines. In conjunction with impacted stakeholders, this position is responsible for ultimate execution to established timelines and subsequent supplier performance and relationship management.

This individual will be responsible for working with the appropriate Research & Development, Quality and Manufacturing team members, the Procurement Manager, FSIP will focus on procuring raw materials as well as value added materials such as:

  • Compound

  • Fabric

  • Injection Molded Plastic and Rubber Parts

  • Stampings

  • Castings

  • Machines Parts

  • Electronics

Responsibilities:

Key Accountabilities:

  • Leads assigned Commodity teams in all aspects of business management to deliver optimal value for internal business requirements and external supplier relationships and performance

  • Interacts with both supply base and internal customers to identify, implement, and realize cost reduction opportunities

  • Provides Procurement support to all Business Units and/or functional areas to ensure Procurement representation and participation in all issues related to meeting business supply requirements

  • Analyzes market trends and reports substantial issues and associated resolution plans to management to minimize the risk of interrupted supply

  • Develops strategies and work plans related to relevant Procurement processes and drives associated projects to successful completion

  • Identifies and resolves any issues related to quality, cost, and delivery to minimize the risk of interrupted supply

  • Manages and enhances supplier performance through standardized processes and continuous improvement efforts to obtain optimal results related to quality, cost, delivery, and service

  • Completes following activities as required: data collection, market analysis, sourcing, cost model analysis, award, implementation across units, contract administration, and compliance monitoring

  • Scope of assignment includes:

  • Leading strategic analysis/ project execution of Procurement team

  • Process analysis and improvement

  • Ensuring internal & external relevant data collection

  • Commodity & market analysis; cost modeling & analysis

  • Sourcing, award, & execute across impacted manufacturing facilities and Business Units

  • Contract administration & compliance monitoring for assigned commodities

Qualifications:

EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree preferred

  • 7+ years Procurement & Commodity Management experience

  • CPM certification preferred

  • Ability to multitask and adapt to a rapidly changing business environment
