Position Summary

Results Orientation - The ideal candidate will be energetic and have demonstrated the ability to manage multiple project timelines with clear conflict resolution skills. In addition, this candidate will have a strong tire product design backgroundwith clearly demonstrated technical acumen in key product performance areas including wear, traction, durability, footprint mechanics, force & moment, and rolling resistance.

Technical Leadership - A successful candidate will have clearly demonstrated the ability to train and influence others in product validation techniques, technical analysis and decision making. In addition, a background in statistics, six sigma or related areais preferred.


This role is responsible for:

  • Leading the product validation team participation in DFMEA / DMAIC activity.

  • Creation of tools to manage product validation resources, timing and test data required for the execution of the consumer / commercial prototype control plans.

  • Communicating recommendations for efficient / effective testing methodologies as well as known or potential testing roadblocks to PV management and internal customers.

  • Communicating recommendations for testing resource application, both in anticipation of conflicting needs and proactive conflict resolution to product validation management.

  • Technical training of the product validation engineering staff in testing methods, customer data criteria, BSAM test criteria, cut section analysis and tire confirmation.

  • Leading communication with internal customers for technical feasibility.


Required: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical degree with at least 10 years of experience.

Preferred: Tire design experience in Commercial and Consumer product development

The preferred candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of testing operations and processes.
