Position Summary

This is an entry-level student position designed to assist the engineering department with various machine design, modification and project management duties.

The incumbent reports to the area engineer. This position has no supervisory responsibility.


The student will spend 100% of his/her time assisting the area engineering with machine modification projects. This could consist of problem identification, project scope definition, design, technology research and identification, and project management.

Not essential to the job but performed at times, the student will add value to the position by presenting information in meetings, contacting vendors for quotations, job scope development and assisting as needed in machine troubleshooting. The student will also perform other duties as required.

Students should be punctual, reliable and detail and team oriented. Students need to be effective communicators and be responsible for completing assigned tasks.

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent

Must be enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited college or university

Must have achieved a minimum 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale
