Responsible for managing capital and expense projects that involve adding new equipment, modification of existing equipment, or process improvements related to the manufacturing EPDM components. This responsibility involves applying the following engineering related skills: Funding requests, budgeting, safety reviews, designing, purchasing, scheduling, programming, supervising, installation, start-ups, and maintenance technical support.
Modification of existing equipment as requested by production, technical service, quality assurance and maintenance departments.
Design, write specifications, purchase, install and start-up new equipment to meet the plant's Business Plan objectives.
Manages contractors and engineering technicians that are assigned to their department. Support area maintenance technicians and group leaders to maintain and meet department goals for downtime frequency, A-rank reduction, obsolesces, and non operational time.
Perform monthly safety audits in the areas of contractor work areas, lockout/tagout, and Near Miss Hidden dangers.
Manage and control spending of the yearly capital and expense budget targets.
Responsible for electrical expertise in single/multiple areas of the plant.
Responsible for maintaining the plant's high voltage electrical distribution.
Responsible for developing and implementing a yearly plan to meet the Business Plan objectives in the area of safety, quality, production/productivity and maintenance support for their departments.
Manage major projects such as New Machine installation upgrades, etc. Projects range from $50K to $5M
A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (or similar related degree).
5 years of relevant engineering experience
2 years of relevant manufacturing experienced
Proficient with MS Office
Strong fundamental knowledge of electrical system design and its application in automated industrial designs including specification of vision, power, sensor, inspection, and communications systems.
Critical thinking with exceptional problem solving skills, able to work independently and in team environments.
